Is Hitherway really free?+
Yes. You can build a Classic county map without an account, share it by URL, and create watermarked exports or a badged static embed. A one-time Pro upgrade adds saved maps, permanent live embeds, premium templates, logo controls, clean exports, and 4K PNG.
Do I need to create an account?+
Not to try the editor or share a browser draft. Passwordless email sign-in is required to purchase Pro, save a named map, or publish a permanent live embed. Signing in with the same email gives you access on another device.
How do I add my service area?+
Choose counties, search for cities and towns with autocomplete, or enter a street address and mileage radius. County mode also lets you click the map directly or add a whole state at once.
How do I put the map on my website?+
Free maps can use a static, badged iframe whose URL contains the map settings. Pro maps can be saved and published to one permanent iframe URL. Later edits stay private until you publish, then every installed embed shows the new revision on its next load.
Which areas does Hitherway cover?+
All 3,200+ counties and county-equivalents across all 50 US states and Washington, DC, using US Census boundary data. Alaska and Hawaii are included.
Can I use the maps commercially?+
Yes. Maps you create with Hitherway — free or Pro — may be used on your business website, in proposals, on social media, and in print. We only ask that free-tier exports keep the small watermark.
What size are the exported images?+
Exports match your map at 960×620 (1x), 1920×1240 (2x), and — with Pro — 3840×2480 (4K). SVG exports are resolution-independent and scale to any size.
How do I remove the watermark?+
Sign in and purchase Hitherway Pro on the pricing page. Stripe confirms payment to the server, which grants Pro to your account automatically. Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
What if I bought an older license key?+
Sign in, then enter the key in the legacy purchase section on the pricing page. A key can be claimed once; after that, Pro follows your account instead of one browser.
Does Hitherway work on phones and tablets?+
Viewing maps and embeds works everywhere. The editor is designed for desktop screens — building a precise county map is much easier with a mouse and a big display.
Can I hide parts of the map I don't serve?+
Yes. In the Visibility section you can turn off county lines, state borders, or hide all unselected counties entirely — leaving just your service area floating on the background.
